Behind the scenes with Shy
Shy wanted to do something a bit more edgy for his second photo shoot with me. William Miranda agreed to do some pretty intense makeup to match Shy’s wardrobe, and we drove down to the East Village to shoot at the Astor Place subway station. I was initially put off by Shy’s request to be photographed smoking a cigarette (my father died of lung cancer in 2008) but I was amused that 1) Shy only bought one cigarette as a prop, and 2) he really had no idea what to do with said cigarette. I’m not even sure if anyone had a lighter.
Aftwards, Shy, Will and I headed a few blocks east and shot in front of a bulding on St. Marks Place, and then headed to West Side Sushi on Eighth Avenue for dinner. It was pretty awesome.
