Behind the scenes with Joel A. Curry

I met Joel A. Curry on Model Mayhem. He wanted to shoot in front of something “old,” so we chose some of the churches on 155th Street, and we also shot in front of Trinity Cemetery, a favorite shooting location of the television show “Law & Order,” as well.

We shot tethered to my Apple MacBook Air, which allowed Joel and Will to view the pictures almost instantly on the large 13-inch screen. It was really convenient for checking lighting, makeup, wardrobe and posing without either of them crowding around the back of my camera.

Joel’s portfolio has significantly improved since I shot with him, and I’m sure it will continue to improve as he works with more and more photographers.
